Croatia has a well built out network of petrol stations: in most tourist areas you would find a least one petrol station. Along the Croatian Motorway there are 24/7 Petrol stations app. every 40 to 50 km. The petrol stations in the smaller cities are normally open from 6 or 7 am till 10pm, in the larger cities normally at least one stations is open till midnight.
There are several fuel companies operating in the Croatia, the biggest player is the partly state owned INA, but also OMW, Tiffon, LUK and several private gas stations can be found. The quality of the fuel / gas might vary depending on the company. (You may contact Croatia expert if you wish to hear his experiences with the different companies)
Fuel and gas Prices:
The development of the fuel prices in Croatia generally follow the development of the Oil market prices, but due to the fairly low income per capita in Croatia, it happens that the government adjusts taxes if the oil prices increases too much.
Below we have listed the prices* for various types of fuel. Under the list you will find the Euro / Kuna exchange rate** and INDEX price. We are updating the list every 3 month, (in summer monthly), once we have updated the prices, we will publish it here and on our Facebook and Twitter page, so make sure to bookmark this page if you wish to stay updated with the price development. Alternatively you can click on the links here to follow Facebook Croatia or Twitter Croatia where we also publish, when we have updates to the fuel pricelist.
*Prices are based on the daily fuel prices published by INA
