Čižići are located on the island of Krk, in the northern part of the bay Soline. Since Soline bay is very shallow and the fluctuation of the sea is very weak, the sea in front of Čižići is significantly warmer than the sea outside of the bay Soline and thus suitable for long "swimming season".
Located in the beautiful bay Soline, near the spot of the medicinal mud, Čižići is surrounded with trees and greenery. The only available accommodation in Čižići is numerous apartments. This is a small and quiet place where mostly families with children come to spend a relaxing holiday far from the hustle of the city. Most villagers work in the major towns on the island Krk or in Rijeka. In recent years, local port for vessels is being built and expanded so it looks like Čižići is developing and perhaps will become more crowded. The time is now if you are looking for isolation and quietness.
Still there is a lot to see in Čižići. Biserujka cave, for instance, is located a few kilometers north of Čižići. Although only 110 meters long, it is one of the most visited and most beautiful caves in Croatia. Meline, on the other hand is a locality in the immediate vicinity of the village. It is rich in therapeutic mud we mentioned before so you can go and get all muddy but with a healthier look afterwards!
